October 1, 2021, 9am - 12pm Language Deprivation among Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children Presented through Zoom by Kimberly Sanzo Please join us in this presentation to learn more about what language deprivation is, what it looks like, how and why it occurs in DHH children, and what we can do about it. We will review case samples, go over examples, and discuss implications for professionals. All information presented will be backed by brain-based science, and practical applications for the classroom and therapy room will be addressed. Kimberly Sanzo is a speech-language pathologist and the founder of Language First. She received her B.A. in Psychology and in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Vermont in 2010 and her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Gallaudet University in 2012. She is a board-certified specialist in child language (BCS-CL) through the American Board of Child Language and Language Disorders. She is dedicated to changing the way that SLPs understand and work with D/HH children.
